There are three different types of editing:
Developmental (or structural) editing
Line editing
Copy editing
I focus on line and copy editing. These are often done at the same time as, used in tandem, they will produce prose that is clean, clear and a pleasure to read. For detailed information on what’s included in this process, please click here and here.
Developmental (also known as structural) editing should be done BEFORE you send your work to a line and copy editor. In the developmental phase, the editor looks at the bigger picture and works with you to make sure the story flows etc. .
